To Have or Not To Have ... Maid

Maid issues have been so popular lately in Malaysia. To have and not to have ... Maid? So hard to trust them and too many scary and horror story about them ...!!!
But I have decided to have maid coz when I had que, my b was not staying with me. We have been weekend or > than weekend husband & wife for 3 years before que arrived. Obviously I need some one to help my mum to look after him


And now my lil bujang is already 9 years old and so far we have employed 4 permanent and 3 temporary  maids ... currently having d 5th one as permanent and this is my journey with them.


1st Maid - RM350 monthly; Ning aka Bibik and among all she was the most capable and the most expensive. We paid about RM6,000 to the agency in 2002 and was told the expenses charges due to the good training was given to her.

She was my run away maid after 1 year working with us, stole her passport ... left while que was sleeping. I was lucky coz my mum was around cant imagine if he was left all alone in the house. Reason ... coz when we found out she started to have boyfriend, scolded her and told her, we may be sending her home to her sick husband and 3 kids. They r waiting for her and and yet she told me she wants to have her freedom and never knew abt love b4 ... goshhh yup truth enough she is juz a human but she is a wife and a mum.
N'way went to make police report and to settle some stuff with d agency. Too bad since she already with us for 13 months so no replacement. d heartbreak part ... we were fined by d imigresen for not taking a gud care of d maid n we had to spend another RM4k for a new one from a different agency.
But i still thank god for this to happen ... make us realize how we should handle maid in d future and it's really an eye opener.


2nd Maid - RM380 monthly, Iin Maryati aka Achik ... soft spoken but and cannot do so much work or lembik :)
D moment i  came home for work at 9pm ... left que with me and went to her room to sleep. I was half dead with date line @ work station and know continue my nite shift @ home.

But i have managed to train her to follow d schedule. Though d 1st one is so much better in house work but at least she more sincere. D problem with her is that her husband kept calling for money and after a year working for she dun even ve any savings. Mmm then i decided o send money n'more to her kg and told her she will get everything when she is going back for raya. Well after 2 years with us she decided to continue for another 2 years but she wants to go back for a month.
She did came back to us after her cuti but d best part after a month, my mum; x midwife told me i think she is pregnant. When we asked she said she took her ubat perancang ... "she can only merancang" rezeki from him u cannnot tolak ... She was crying when we decided to terminate her but we cant be looking after her when we need someone to look after our que.


3rd Maid-RM400 monthly, Yuni aka Kak Yun ... cant find her picture. Worked for us 2 years then decided to work as a cleaner more freedom and salary. Though her sister didnt approved with her decision ... well how can u stop a youngster. Even when working for us she loves to hang out with other maids at the apartment and will be along que with her. A time i find it's difficult to control or even to deal with her attitude. N'way she is married now and pregnant too ...


4th Maid - RM400-450 monthly, Sue aka Kak Sue ... worked for nearly 21/2 years with us and d closest maid to que and even to my family n me. She was more like a sister to me ...

Well, obviously she was d fav among d four, matured and capable to manage my que and i was relying to her too much in everything except cooking :)
When she decided to go back to her home town to get married i was lil bit upset. To me she is too young ... why cant she work for at least 2 years. As much as her brother told her d same thing we can never stop the madly in luv couple. She is back to KL now and married. Infact que did pujuk her to come back but her husband prefer her to work as a cleaner. All i can say, m so thankful having her ... looking after que and helping him in his studies.


The temporary ones ... a month, 3 months and 5 months. enuf is enuf ... having bad headache with them with so many issues (husband, boyfriend, bad body odour, etc) . Thinking maybe we should just send que to a transit center or babysitter and using a weekend cleaner. But it's really hard for us to cope with the routine and we are rushing home, m so exhausted with everything plus Que prefer to be at home ...


So now here's the no.5 - RM500 monhly, Siti aka Kak Siti only 2 months with us ... too soon to say anything but so far so good.


All d permanent ones, alhamdullilah we never failed to give lil angpau like duit raya or bonus and insyaallah if they treat us well ... we will do d same the thing to them. After all my Que is d priority. To have or not to have  ... i guess it's depending on us. Yes understand with d frustation, crying and worrying but have gone thru d same things gets me stronger.
